Energy Efficient Products
In order for a product or appliance to qualify for the ENERGY STARĀ® label it has to meet
or exceed federal energy-efficiency and quality guidelines without sacrificing performance.
These guidelines are determined by the U.S. Department of Energy within the Federal Energy
Management Program, and can be seen at http://www1.eere.energy.gov/femp/procurement/eep_requirements.html.
Even though ENERGY STAR products may have a higher up-front cost, the savings you
receive on your utility bill will literally make the product pay for itself in no time
at all; not to mention the fact that your purchase will help save the environment by keeping
unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions from entering the atmosphere and from contributing to
global climate change.
