Kidz Expo

The fifth annual Hannaford Kidz Expo, a free family event, will include more than 80 family-friendly vendors and exhibitors. Hannaford will give away environmentally-friendly reusable tote bags, bottled water and healthy snacks to expo visitors throughout the day.

The Right Light℠ - This AIA, PHD and NCQLP approved training will introduce you to the NYSERDA Commercial Lighting Program (CLP) and how you can become a Business Partner. Program Business Partners are eligible to receive financial incentives for designing, selling, and/or installing effective, energy-efficient lighting.

Solar Energy Education Teacher Training Workshop: A Solar Kit for the Classroom

A Solar Kit for the Classroom is a free professional development workshop for formal and nonformal educators on solar energy education. Become familiar with solar energy concepts. Test out the experiments and give your students the tools they need to understand solar technologies. This workshop supports NYSERDA's School Power...Naturally: 15 Solar Kit lessons, found at www.schoolpowernaturally.org. Lessons range in age appropriateness from 3-12 grade. There will be three groupings for grade-level appropriate activities: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.

At the workshop educators will receive:
• engaging, hands-on science and engineering activities that support NYS Learning Standards and Core Curriculum; and
• a free Deluxe Solar Energy Education Kit and support materials for your classroom, center or institution.

New York City Commercial Lighting Program (CLP) Advanced Training

The Right Light℠ - This AIA, PHD and NCQLP approved training will introduce you to the NYSERDA Commercial Lighting Program (CLP) and how you can become a Business Partner. Program Business Partners are eligible to receive financial incentives for designing, selling, and/or installing effective, energy-efficient lighting.

This AIA, PDH, and NCQLP approved FREE training is designed for individuals who have already attended basic Commercial Lighting Program training and members of the design community with good comprehension of basic lighting concepts. Contractors, distributors, architects, engineers, lighting designers, interior designers, manufacturer reps, and ESCOs are all welcome. The training is free BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and is limited to the first 100 registrants.

STEM 2010 Expo

STEM 2010 Expo - Science • Technology • Engineering • Math: A sharing of best practices for 21st century teaching and learning in the Tech Valley Region.

This conference is a regional initiative, organized through the spirit of sharing best practices to promote high quality professional development in K-12 STEM teaching and learning and Tech Valley workforce readiness. Conference registration is free of charge for all attendees. In partnership with business, industry, government and higher education, please join us spending a day with colleagues to discuss the importance of current STEM teaching practices, learning what works in our region's classrooms and examining workforce needs in the heart of New York's Tech Valley.
